VENUE: The Schiewetz Auditorium, Dayton Masonic Center, Dayton, OH
DESIGNER: Based on 1920s design
YEAR: 2020
Built in 1928, the Dayton Masonic Center is was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. Within the Center is the beautiful 1,700-seat Schiewetz Auditorium. Its 39-year old main drape needed to be replaced with a new drape that honored the building’s history.
- After doing research, we found a photo of the main drape from the 1920s to use as a basis for the design.
- We added a traveler motor to the pipe to allow the drape to split and fly at the same time.
- Gold trim finished the edges giving the drape and valance a rich, luxurious texture and a nostalgic appeal at an economic price point.
