Blending Movement, Atmosphere, and Scenic Simplicity
Scenic Solutions partnered with the creative team behind Elements, a touring dance production that explores the natural world through movement, music, and visual storytelling. The scenic environment needed to evoke the essence of earth, air, fire, and water—while remaining lightweight, durable, and tour-friendly.
A Visually Minimalist but Symbolically Rich Design
Scenic Pieces that Evoke the Natural Forces
The set was designed to be abstract and open, allowing choreography and lighting to serve as primary storytelling tools while the scenery acted as symbolic support.
- Fabricated versatile structures and scenic accents representing elemental forms
- Applied texture and finish treatments to reflect organic materials like stone, flame, mist, and wood
- Created depth through layered silhouettes and negative space for enhanced lighting effects
Tour-Ready Construction for Efficiency and Durability
The production required a scenic package that could travel easily, install quickly, and perform consistently across a variety of stage sizes.
- Modular scenic elements that packed efficiently for transport
- Durable materials chosen to withstand repeated assembly and disassembly
- Designed to align with technical rider requirements and accommodate quick changeovers
Supporting a Movement-Driven Narrative
The set worked in harmony with lighting and choreography to bring the concept of the four elements to life. It allowed the performers to move freely, interact with the environment, and draw the audience into a poetic, immersive experience.
Scenic Solutions: Creating Space for Story Through Motion
