Scenic Solutions partnered with Cedar Fair to fabricate custom illuminated parade floats for Cedar Point’s 2021 150th Anniversary celebration. Featured as part of the park’s nighttime anniversary parade, the floats helped create a multi-sensory entertainment experience that celebrated one of America’s most iconic amusement parks.
Custom Parade Floats That Celebrate the Past and Inspire the Future
Themed Float Fabrication
The project included the fabrication of five large illuminated parade floats designed to create memorable nighttime entertainment for park guests. Scenic Solutions combined detailed craftsmanship with durable construction to support repeated performances throughout the celebration.

Engineered for Performance and Durability
Each float was built to withstand frequent outdoor operation while supporting live performers and specialty performance features throughout the parade.
- All materials and finishes were designed for outdoor use.
- Float heights ranged from approximately 18 to 26 feet, with lengths ranging from approximately 24 to 30 feet.
- Engineered specialty performance features included a trampoline and structurally engineered walking wall on the Hotel Breakers float, along with a custom skate deck for rollerblading performers on the Roller Coaster float. CNC-routed jigs ensured precise steel frame construction, while the layered plywood skating surface balanced durability with simplified maintenance.

The parade became a signature entertainment experience during Cedar Point’s 2021 150th Anniversary celebration, combining large-scale illuminated floats, live performers, and immersive storytelling into a memorable nighttime spectacular that celebrated the park’s rich history.
