In 2023, Scenic Solutions completed a multi-year partnership with The Ohio State University, enhancing facilities across the Department of Theatre, Film, Media Arts, and the School of Music.
This large-scale campus project redefined the creative landscape at OSU—bringing cutting-edge performance technology and purpose-built spaces to support both education and artistic excellence.
Upgrading Theatre & Studio Infrastructure
Scenic Solutions provided comprehensive upgrades to multiple performance venues, integrating advanced systems to support modern production needs.
Proscenium & Black Box Theatre Enhancements
- Lighting and Fly Systems: Installed new ETC lighting rigs and Vortec hoist fly systems to support professional-grade productions.
- Orchestra Pit Logistics: Introduced a motorized orchestra pit cover and safety net to improve stage flexibility and performer safety.
- Rehearsal Hall Upgrades: Redesigned lighting layouts in rehearsal spaces to mimic live-stage conditions for actors and directors.
Dedicated Production & Costume Spaces
- Custom Costume Storage: Built specialized wardrobe storage to organize and preserve costume assets.
- Enhanced Sound Stage: Equipped with green-screen tech, drapery systems, and stage lighting to support media and film projects.
- Light Lab Creation: Constructed a hands-on teaching lab where students can experiment with various luminaire technologies.
Music School Facility Enhancements
To bolster OSU’s musical training environment, Scenic Solutions also improved spaces within the School of Music.
Weigel Recital Hall Improvements
- Retrofitted lighting systems and added a professional fly rig to support diverse musical performances—from solo recitals to full ensembles.
Ensemble Rehearsal Hall Updates
- Delivered upgraded stage lighting systems to emulate live performance atmospheres during daily rehearsals.
Orchestra Equipment & Stage Support
- Supplied custom musician lockers, choral risers, and high-quality stage draperies to elevate rehearsal and performance readiness.
