Creating an Immersive Lighting Environment for Pediatric Care
Scenic Solutions partnered with Dayton Children’s Hospital to design and install architectural lighting systems that enhance the waiting area within the Specialty Care Center. The lighting installation highlights the Ambulatory Art Wall and other playful artistic elements throughout the space, helping create an engaging environment for pediatric patients and their families while supporting the hospital’s focus on emotional well-being.
Architectural Lighting for an Interactive Healthcare Environment
Enhancing the Waiting Area Through Lighting
The project focused on using programmable architectural lighting to reinforce the immersive character of the waiting area.
- Illuminated the Ambulatory Art Wall and suspended artwork throughout the space.
- Used architectural lighting to establish an engaging visual atmosphere.
- Supported an environment featuring large interactive art elements located on the floor and suspended from the ceiling.
Programmable Lighting Control
Scenic Solutions installed an Interactive Technologies CueServer 2 Pro lighting control system programmed to operate multiple lighting shows throughout the day.

Modern LED Lighting Systems
Architectural Lighting Fixtures
The lighting system combines programmable LED fixtures selected to enhance the visual environment while remaining visually unobtrusive.
- Installed sixteen luminaires with white housings to blend with the ceiling.
- Installed twelve High End Systems SolaPix 7 fixtures.
- Installed four ETC Source Four LED Series 3 Lustr X8 fixtures.
- Configured the fixtures using wireless DMX/RDM control with Multiverse® technology.
Dynamic Lighting Effects
To further enhance the environment, Scenic Solutions integrated programmable gobo rotators into the lighting system.
- Installed four Rosco RevoPRO Dual Programmable Gobo Rotators on the ETC Source Four fixtures.
- Enabled dynamic projected lighting effects that support changing visual environments throughout the waiting area.
